Diet for Urticaria
Urticaria is an allergic skin disease which affects people of any age group and constitutions. It is caused due to certain immunological changes in the body and allergies towards certain foods, drugs and environmental factors. Diet has a kajor role to play in successfully treating urticaria.
Recommended
- Jowar, Bajra, ragi/nachni, quinoa, buckwheat
- Rice milk, flax seed oil, coconut oil, olive oil, sunflower oil
- kokum extract daily in morning
- Moong bean sprouts, brown chana Peanuts
- Buttermilk, curd, alfalfa sprouts, coriander
- Bananas, apples, pomegranate, papaya, avocados, coconut, beetroots
- Sweet potatoes, green onions, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, green leafy vegetables
- Honey, apple cider vinegar Certain soy products
Not Recommended
- Wheat or gluten rich foods, oats, barley
- Dairy products like cow’s milk or commercial dairy products
- Eggs
- Peanuts
- Sour foods like tomatoes, pineapples etc
- Nuts like walnuts, almond, pistachios
- Vegetables like peppers, chillies, brinjals, potatoes
- Certain soy products
- Two tablespoons cooking oil/ pure cow ghee to be used in any preparation. Sunflower oil, mustard oil, rice bran oil, soyabean oil, olive oil. This cycle should be followed per month.
- Avoid all refined carbohydrates like sugar, canned juices, jams, chocolates, maida preparations. Aerated drinks, fried food, processed cheese also to be avoided.
- This diet is subject to change as per patient’s food choices and requirements.
- Individual variations as per the state of health.
